of the Connecticut Federation of Catholic School Parents
Dear Principals: The Connecticut Federation of Catholic School Parent’s Executive Committee is currently seeking parents to serve on our Board of Trustees and our two standing committees. The Board of Trustees currently has one Trustee position open in the Archdiocese of Hartford, one position in the Diocese of Bridgeport and two positions in the Diocese of Norwich. The parent would serve a one-year term. To serve on the Board of Trustees a volunteer must be a practicing Catholic and have a child enrolled in a Catholic School. No political experience is required. A parent should be comfortable with public speaking and promoting the mission and identity of the Federation. I have attached a job description that provides more specifics. Additionally, the Federation has established a public policy and a communications/marketing committee. We are currently seeking volunteers to serve on these two committees. An administrator, teacher, alumnus or parents are eligible to serve on one of these committees. A description of these committees is attached. During the past two years the Federation has secured over $750,000 in government assistance in the form of textbooks, transportation, grants and nursing coverage. This has all been done with the help of our Catholic schools and our parents. The success of these efforts can be attributed to the efforts of the Connecticut Federation of Catholic School Parents and its Board of Trustees. To ensure we enjoy more success in the future, it is imperative that more of our Catholic school parents become involved.
