Presentation of the Monuments

June 2, 2000 was a very special day for the fifth grade students at Saint Joseph School.
It was also a special day for some very dedicated residents of Meriden, who were memorialized by the students.  As a part of the Local Historical Monument Project, the fifth grade students worked in groups to identify a person, program, or group that was worthy of a monument, but for which none presently existed.  The students then designed and built a monument to help us remember these fine people.  The monuments turned out beautifully and the presentation ceremony was perfect!
